The Fruits of the Holy Spirit – Relaxation Prayers with Images in 6 Languages

    Prayer for Relaxation

Sometimes I am inspired to write a new prayer while taking a walk, praying, or reading the Bible. Whenever that happens, I would like to create a new blog article for my series “Relaxation Prayers with Images in 6 Languages.” Each prayer will be accompanied by matching illustrations to make it easier to remember and to repeat peacefully whenever you wish.

You can combine this prayer with calm, mindful breathing. As you say the words “Please, dear God,” breathe in slowly, and while speaking the actual request, breathe out gently. Many people find that this helps reduce stress and anxiety while bringing inner peace.

Then, as you say “Thank You, O Lord,” breathe in calmly again, and while expressing your gratitude, breathe out slowly. In this way, you unite prayer, thankfulness, and trust.

Please, dear God, grant me peace.
Thank You, O Lord, that I may live in peace.

Please, dear God, teach me patience.
Thank You, O Lord, that I can be patient.

Please, dear God, help me to be considerate.
Thank You, O Lord, that I can be considerate.

Please, dear God, grant me self-control.
Thank You, O Lord, that I can exercise self-control.

    The Biblical Inspiration: Galatians 5:22–23

The inspiration for this prayer comes from Galatians 5:22–23. In these verses, the Apostle Paul describes the fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These qualities grow in the life of a person who allows themselves to be guided by God’s Holy Spirit. Through this prayer, you can ask God each day to let these fruits grow in your own life while also thanking Him in faith for His work within you.
