Staying in the Flow: A Nature Meditation for Letting Go of Negative Thoughts

Nature often helps us return to balance. This meditation in nature is about getting back into alignment and returning to the flow after something has thrown us off course.

In the past few days, for example, I noticed that through dream work many negative emotions from my unconscious mind surfaced. These feelings appeared in my dreams. Many people know situations like this: thoughts, images, or emotions that occupy our mind and drain our energy.

This meditation is about consciously letting go of those feelings.

Letting Go of Negative Feelings from Dreams

The first step is the decision to face your own dreams and emotions. When negative feelings appear, it can be a sign that something in the unconscious mind is being processed.

The second step is a simple visualization:

The negative feelings and dreams are mentally transformed into a stone.

This stone is then thrown into the water.

This creates a clear inner image: what burdens us disappears. It sinks to the bottom and no longer plays a role.

The Visualization: Turning Thoughts into a Stone

In my imagination, I simply put the bad dream and the negative feeling into a bag. I do not spend a long time thinking about it. Instead, I transform everything into a stone.

In my dream, for example, it was about looking at trash, collecting trash, and carrying trash around.

This is a powerful symbol: things that weigh us down, slow us down, and actually have no real value for our lives.

I mentally place these thoughts together with that trash. Everything goes into the stone.

And then the stone is thrown into the water.

When the Stone Disappears, the Thought Disappears

As soon as the stone is in the water, I no longer need to think about it.

You can imagine the stone lying at the bottom. From above it is no longer visible. It no longer plays any role.

What remains visible is the sparkling water.

The water flows down the river and follows its own path.

This image represents the things in our lives that truly move us forward:

    • things that help us
    • things that are good for us
    • things we enjoy doing
    • things we are good at

The River as a Symbol of Our Life Path

The river is a powerful image for our own path in life.

A river can only flow because it has a riverbed. This bed gives it direction and stability.

The water moves together in one direction. It flows more easily because there is a natural slope.

The same is true in our lives.

When we find our path, many things become easier. Our energy flows in the right direction.

Obstacles Are Part of the Journey

Of course, obstacles appear again and again.

Sometimes piles of rocks form in the river. The water slows down for a moment, maybe creating a small calm area.

But the river does not stop.

The water always finds a way forward.

And the same is true for us.

Most of the water stays within the riverbed and continues to flow.

Seeing Your Day Like a River

This is how I imagine my own path.

And this is how I imagine my day.

Of course, there are always moments when we get stuck. Maybe a whole pile of problems has built up.

But we do not let this discourage us.

We face it and keep moving forward.

Sometimes suddenly things move again – just like that.

Letting Go Helps Us Take Action Again

Letting go of negative feelings and obstacles helps us become active again.

It helps us recognize the things that truly matter.

It helps us decide what to do next.

And it also helps us see our work in a different way.

    Not as a burden.

    But as an expression.

Creative Work as an Expression of Our Personality

Many of our projects come from something positive:

    • affection for other people
    • the desire to share knowledge
    • our talents and abilities

When we see our work this way, it becomes something beautiful.

An expression of who we are.

A way to allow other people to share in what we can do.

    Finding the Flow Again

When we let go of negative thoughts, our path becomes clear again.

Our path finds its riverbed again.

The things we do, we do in flow.

    We enjoy what we do.

    We do it willingly.

And we are no longer easily thrown off track.

    When Negative Thoughts Return

Of course, negative thoughts may appear again later.

Then we can once again imagine turning them into a stone and throwing them into the water.

    And then we simply continue.

    We focus on the things

    • we can do
    • we enjoy doing
    • we love
    • we can share with others

In this way, we enrich our own lives – and the lives of others as well.

    Our Path in Life

Our path is a beautiful path.

    A light path.

    A path in flow.

    We can enjoy our lives.

We can be grateful for having this life.

And we continue walking our path.

Even when it sometimes leads into the unknown.

With the certainty that we are not the first to walk this path.

And that we are not alone.

    Others accompany us.

Others share our journey because they appreciate what we do.

Moving Forward – Step by Step

And if we are stopped at some point?

Then we fight our way back into the water.

    And we simply keep swimming.

In this spirit, I will now continue walking, continue taking my photos for today, and continue collecting information.

I wish you a wonderful day or a beautiful evening.

    See you tomorrow.
