On January 4, World Braille Day is observed worldwide. The day is internationally recognized by the United Nations and highlights the importance of braille as a fundamental tool for education, independence, and full participation in society for blind and visually impaired people.
Why this day matters:
🔤 Braille enables independent reading and learning
🧠 Access to information means real participation
🤝 Accessibility strengthens inclusion and equality
🌍 An inclusive society benefits everyone
What I am doing today:
Today I take time to reflect on barriers in everyday life and on how essential accessible information is — in language, writing, and design.
What you can do today:
Learn more about accessibility, pay attention to inclusive content, or support initiatives that promote inclusion and equal opportunities.
