    Life Is Full of Color

Today’s topic fits perfectly: Life Is Full of Color. Not Pippi Longstocking’s Villa Villekulla, but a colorful life.

I have discovered that looking forward to something enjoyable is often just as valuable as the experience itself, sometimes even more so. You can notice this when it comes to food. When you are cooking something and the aroma becomes better and better, your mouth may start watering long before the meal is ready. You probably know exactly what I mean.

The Joy of Pleasant Scents and Beautiful Impressions

The smell of food can be something special as well. When you walk past a restaurant or a bakery, you notice all kinds of different aromas.

There are many wonderful scents. Smell and appearance often have a strong effect on us. That is one reason why I am always excited to discover new places.

Why My Life Is So Colorful

I look forward to every new month because I always choose new areas to explore, often near rivers and lakes. That keeps my life colorful and varied.

That is exactly what I would like when it comes to food as well. I prefer eating a variety of different foods instead of eating the same things all the time.

A Month of Very Simple Food

That is why what I am starting today is especially interesting.

For four weeks, an entire month, I want to avoid many colorful, varied, and expensive foods. Instead, I want to eat foods that are inexpensive, simple, and easy to store.

I simply want to find out how that feels. Could it feel good? Is it possible to do it? Can I be disciplined enough not to keep going to the bakery or to restaurants?

If a friend really wants to go to a restaurant and order something, I can still go along. I can sit there, enjoy the conversation, and spend time together. But I will not order anything myself.

    Not Only About Money

I am not doing this only because I have to pay last year’s income tax and sales tax this month.

Of course, money plays a role. I have also given up another source of income and will therefore have less money available for a while.

But it is also simply an experiment. I want to find out what it feels like to live on very simple foods.

    My New Project

Hopefully, more and more people will hear about my new online magazine, “365 Steps”.

The topics in the magazine are relevant to many people. If enough readers eventually buy an issue, I will once again have the income I need. Then I will probably start eating much more colorfully again.

What Does Colorful Eating Actually Mean?

    What is colorful eating, anyway?

Of course, you could add food coloring to everything. In fact, many products contain artificial colors. The people who market these products know very well that things often look more attractive when the colors are brighter and more intense.

However, artificial food colorings are not necessarily healthy. In reality, we do not really need them.

    Nature Provides Plenty of Colors

Nature already offers many beautiful colors on its own.

Flowers are beautiful and colorful. Fruits and vegetables are colorful as well. There is no need for artificial coloring to enjoy beautiful colors.

When you consciously pay attention to nature, you discover color and beauty everywhere.
