In Genesis 14, Lot is taken captive during a war between several kings. Abram pursues the victorious army with 318 trained men, rescues his nephew, and later meets Melchizedek, who blesses him. Abram refuses the wealth of the king of Sodom and chooses to trust in God’s provision alone.
