Today we celebrate one of the most meaningful evenings of the year. Christmas Eve is filled with traditions: decorating the tree, lighting candles, baking cookies, sharing quiet moments with family, listening to soft music, reading the Christmas story — and, depending on the region, either the Christ Child or Santa Claus brings the gifts. But beyond gifts and the rush, this evening reminds us of something much deeper.
In many countries, Christmas is celebrated on December 24 or 25, while in Russia it traditionally takes place on January 7.
Why this day matters:
🤍 The birth of Jesus is at the center: light comes into the world
💛 Love, compassion, and hope are born anew
💚 Togetherness carries us — especially in darker times
✨ Small traditions create warmth, safety, and connection
What I am doing today:
I take a moment to pause and reflect on the true meaning of this evening: Why was the Son of God born? To bring peace. To show love. To be close to people, especially those who feel alone or lost. I keep my little rituals — a warm light, a quiet prayer, a moment of stillness, and gratitude for the year behind me.
What you can do today:
Give yourself a quiet moment. Light a candle. Read a few lines from the Christmas story. Call someone who would be happy to hear from you. Give not just things, but warmth, time, and kindness — that is what makes Christmas Eve truly special.
